Sándor Trauner is an internationally acclaimed stage designer and painter. His career began at the Academy of Fine Art in Budapest. He arrived in Paris in the 1930's and in ten years time he was the most acclaimed stage designer in film industry. He worked as head stage designer from 1937 in films by eg. Marcel Carné in his movie for which the script was written by Jacques Prévert.

In 1958 he worked in Hollywood with Orson Welles, Billy Wilder, Fred Zinnemann and William Wyler. He won an Oscar for set decoration for "The Apartment" in 1960.
The Memorial Exhibition in Győr shows the photographer Trauner who admired Paris. It is a great experience for the town; every corner is novelty and every narrow street leads to surprises. Trauner's took photos in search of motifs in his movies and were born for the sake o composition.
The images are of streets, shops, and people in the street as well as fascinating moments in Paris.
The exhibition is supported by the Alliance Francaise of Győr and the representative of the Alliance Francaise Hungary via the Vintage Art Gallery.
