The organizers selected posters from the 1950/60's from a collection of over 4000 posters. Since those were the times when market economy did not exist in Hungary, the role of commercial posters was not significant but the number of cultural and educational posters was grand due to state support. While political posters were schematic, cultural posters lined up several styles from idealism to realism. We show classis graphics, but also dynamic posters with only 2-3 colours advertising a sport event. We mainly show large posters but included a few informative notes too.

Poster design then was not only a sure way of income for a graphic artist but also provided opportunity for talents to show their worth. The graphic artist Zala Tibot was one o them. Two of his posters are shown at the exhibition.

There is also a significant collection of health and education related posters. The exhibition entitled "Do not Forget to Wash" was shown at the Shkanzen of Szentendre and the Angyalföld Local History Collection last year. 14 of the posters shown there are to be shown at our exhibition.

The listing and procession of the collection of 4000 pieces lasted over a year. The safe and professional storing of the posters was provided by the PHIGY.

The exhibition is held at the Cultural Centre of Pestszentimre (48 Vasút Street, 1188 Budapest, .)
