Mrs. Báthori Gém Erzsébet started to work as a chemist but due to her illness, she had to quit her profession. These were the times when she first got involved in embroidery. Her mother, the deceased Mrs. Gém Rudolf, taught her the bases of embroidery, but she also learned a lot of Mrs. Lyachovics József and Bagdi Lajos. Mrs. Báthori Gém Erzsébet fell in love with handiwork and to educate herself on the topic, she enrolled an embroidery group. She and her fellows won a loom at an application. Since none of the members knew how to operate it, Mrs. Báthori Gém Erzsébet enrolled a workshop which were followed four others in the following ten years.
