The naked walls of the old Trinitarian monastery inspired the works of Türk Péter:

'The brick taken out of the wall of the church is the building element of this large space. The work built of it inherits from the spirit of the church. Moving in the space, taking place, designating places, the psychological and biological reason of building and its effect are endless and rich. They symbolize the meaning of houses, buildings, structures, and the basic material. It is built in the language in many ways and on many levels.'
(Türk Péter)
Türk Péter was born in 1943. In the 60's he made abstract and new-expressive pictures. From the 70's he created conceptual and geometric works and specialized on visual semantic-logical studies. He works with photos, makes photomontages using the photogram technique. The scientific studies of the motion of eyes inspired him to use new methods. He calls his new series psychograms and fenomens.
After recovering from his serious eye illness, he turned towards religion. His works are determined with the search for Divine certainty. His serials titled 'Bread', 'Water', 'Sitting in the Shadow of my Hot Desires', 'Thirst Flowers' are all built on the opposites of shadow and light, positive and negative, visible and invisible.
He has been showing his works from 1968, participated at several collective exhibitions in Hungary, Germany and Austria, at one-man exhibitions in the Kiscelli Museum in 1996. His works are included in public collections in Hungary (Ludwig Museum, Hungarian National Gallery and Gallery of the Capitol).
