I believe Andy Warhol, my famous American colleague, said once that everybody can be a star for 15 minutes. It is imperative in America since you can earn millions of dollars in 15 minutes and you can start life. It is possible to do big things like that or just like a little ant works hard and do big things.

I am afraid it is a little different here in Hungary. We have different stars. Eg. zebra-stripped IQ champions keep you awake with hidden racism and clever people make a fool of themselves. The little nobodies of the reality-shows become famous and are trying to be clever through all possible media, though they should not do so.

On the other side there is Gyulai Líviusz. He cannot make faces with his stomach or play the flute with his ears. He is not often to appear on the magic box. However, he is an excellent artist. He has a personality, style, his works are not those of others which I believe is a little drawback in this star thing. He can work like a mule and knows what he is doing.

He was still at collage but was one of the legendary illustrators of the 'és' (and). Then the simple joiner and the heart surgeon awaited the paper with the same excitement as it always contained something interesting. Then Gyulai Líviusz sent his works to exhibitions, spent some time in Italy and England, worked and then came home.

He is mostly known as a book illustrator. Somebody has counted his works: he drew on 500 volumes. Do you know how much is that? An average man does not have this much book in his hand in his lifetime including the schoolbooks. If someone read that much, he can teach literature.

He did not select but made cover picture for sci-fi and made Wöres Sándor's legendary "Psyché". People say he did the drawings in one week even though he used th epointilist technique. He made a wonder where text is inseparable from the pictures. If you have not seen them, hurry up!
