A centenary exhibition is to celebrate and outstanding member of the Vásárhely school at the Alföld Gallery. István D. Kurucz (1914-1996) was an outstanding artist from the Great Planes in Hungarian, the Alföld who was awarded with the Kossuth Prize during his life . The town of his birth is to pays tribute to the painter by this exhibition.

Dezső István Kurucz. the painter of the Great Planes was born 100 years ago. As one of the representative personalities of Vásárhely school, he played a major role in the beginning of theVásárhely Autumn Exhibition. In terms of imagery and ethical stance,he was played a special role in the development and continuation of Hungarian painting.
