There cannot be a new generation of photographers without knowing works of art of their famed ancestors, one way or another. Demeter Balla was a Béla Balázs - and Kossuth Prize awarded artist, a Merited Artist, an influential photographer in the second part of the 20th century. He photographed representatives of literature, music, visual arts. His still-lives, nudes, metaphoric photos are important features of Hungarian photo art.

Though Demeter Balla does not work now, he helps young talents; he teaches DLA courses and offers his knowledge of art in many other ways. He believes that his goal in life is to show his pictures to young people in as many places as possible, may it be an institute where young people work or a place where they just spend their free time. This way, his pictures, shown in very unusual places, are seen by a lot more people, offering topic for discussion, especially when they represent some irregular form.
During the spring of 2011, a travelling exhibition was launched in Répcelak is to be shown in several towns and places, some related to the oeuvre of the artist.
The showing at the Petőfi Literary Museum will travel on to several exhibition rooms and libraries across the country. The quantity of works, their form and composition may change according to the requirements and conditions of the exhibition room.
