Péter Kern is an amateur cacti collector. He attended primary school in Leipzig. However, to learn Hungarian, he enrolled secondary school in Esztergom. He began to collect cacti due to his love for nature and the incitement of his wife. The man, who was originally an architect-mycologist, became an acclaimed cacti specialist soon. His collection of almost 10.000 pieces is located in Érd.
