The Ludwig Museum is the sole arts museum collecting international and contemporary artworks The Hungarian Cultural government established the museum in 1989. The basis of the collection is 70 works of art by contemporary artists working after 1955. The collection was bestowed by the couple Ludwig and the Ludwig Foundation of Aachen to the Hungarian state. continue
Programmes
In parallel with kis.műhely (small.workshop) Scissors Square offers the possibility of drawing, playing with art toys to everybody including small children (up to the age of 5). It also provides parents, grandparents and young people interested in contemporary art with the possibility of reading art papers. continue
Animation screening for children by Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest - in the 3rd floor exhibition space every weekend. continue
We have put together a package (exercise sheets, toys, drawing-paper, different tools of drawing, educational material, laminated pictures, etc.) which can help children and their parents to get to know some important pieces of the museum's collection. The suitcase is available at the information desk of the museum on presentation of an ID card as a deposit. continue
In the course of the family tour, families can explore some special pieces of the permanent collection within a playful environment - actively involving parents and children. The route of the tour, "the walking brochure" is available at the exhibition entrance. continue

Márton Nemes’ work is influenced by techno subcultures; the explosion and rearrangement of the pictorial field gives a psychedelic character to his paintings that evoke the visual atmosphere of today’s nightclubs. Combining painterly and sculptural elements, his multimedia installations create a hypnotic spatial dynamic that propels the viewer from the harshness of the real world into a fluid, dizzying colour field. continue
