Major János was born on 8 May 1934 in Budapest. His experiments also involve this area, the suburbs of the 8th district. In an interview of 1997 with him he talked about the importance of him learning of the works of Derkovits Gyula and Dési Huber István, later that of Jakovits József and Vajda Lajos.
