Guba (wool coat) making masters of Debrecen were known nationwide for their quality coats made of long black wool. The cloth dumps were made of long fur sheep held in the plains of the Hortobágy. Clusters were woven into the wool fabric during, making the coat look like as if it was fur.
The readymade coats were brayed, that is, soaked in fast running water so that the textile would get denser and with this longer lasting. Then it was dyes with alder tree crust. The jet-black coats were given bright red scarlet cloth as "collar". They also sawed disc shaped 'eyes' on that fastened the coat cast over the shoulder. The clustered woollen coat of Debrecen is a valuable treasure at the County Treasury.
