Patchwork is the art of sewing together pieces of fabric to form a patter or a block. This is an art and craft having long-lasted tradition. It is a world-wide known activity for several years but the Hungarian Patchwork Guild was founded in 1989 and nowadays it has about 1000 members.

One of them is Vadász Erzsébet (her married name is Pintér Lászlóné), who is a retired teacher living in Jászberény (In Hungary, in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, east of Budapest). Since she retired in 1996, she has been involved in patchwork activity as a hobby. As a consequence of her involvement she became the leader of the local patchwork group of Jászberény called “Jász-Folt Klub” in 2005. She took part several national, regional and local exhibitions, contests and courses to unleash her hidden talent or just to develop her skills.

We show some 50 patchwork prodults with the title of ’Colours – Patches’ symbolised the harmony of colours and forms in her activity. Her products are full of friendly, kindly emotions. Less red, blue colours – she prefers the yellow associating with optimism, happiness or harmony, the brown associating with the earth or with stability, solidity and simplicity.
