The findings from Głogów, west Poland were discovered two local residents in a wooden barrel in October 1987. The treasure was most probably hidden in the period between 1210 and 1215. The total weight of nearly seven kilograms of precious metal artefacts - more than 20 thousand coins, thousands of fragments, and a seven silver rods and clots - are of Europe's greatest medieval treasures. Among the medals Polish items dominate, some of the items are only known of this find. The oldest coins are from the turn of the XI. and XII. century. The exhibition entitled 'Głogów Treasure' was first opened in 1994 at the Glogów Archaeological-Historical Museum. In 2010, other institutions were allowed to present their it to audiences. It has been seen by more than fifty thousand people during its tour within Poland.
