The existence of the Visual Art Collection of the Klapka György Museum is the result of decades of work. The collecting work was launched by the founder of the museum, László Kecskés. He continued this endeavour until his death in 1995. The collection consists of works of art by artists born or somewhat related to Komárom, regardless if they are from or outside of Hungary.
