Ülle Marks assures US that everything she draws is derived from her oneness with the macrocosm. When moving to the 16th floor of a tower block in 1991, the artist discovered through the window a spacious landscape, stretching out to the horizon. Up until now, Marks has drawn inspriation from that landscape. Moving in together with the residents were flowers and houseplants, which started growing in the light rooms with tremendous vigour. Marks watered them, planted seeds, and drew. She says that a flower carries a message - if someone has given us a sign, why should we decline to accept it
