The new exhibition at the Black House exhibition site in Szeged presents medieval monasteries. Over one-hundred monasteries were established in Upper Hungary from Saint Stephens reign to the Battle of Mohács.

The material shown differs from former ones as it organises medieval monasteries in a way that has never been done before. Besides reviewing various orders, the visitors will also find a habitation-based division of monasteries.
The visitors will also find a historic review of the Franciscan Monastery in Pozsony (Bratislava). The Franciscan quarters did not only serve liturgical purposes but also defended the town dwellers who found refuge there from the attacks of the Czech king Ottokar II. The building also survived Turkish destruction, despite fire that burned down the region several times and the earthquake that damaged the monastery in the 16th century.
