"The art works of Antal Tucsányi first came into the center of attention when his exhibition was opened in Lajos Street by Lajos Németh the professor of art history, the president of the Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists, and he praised and analyzed Turchányi's work. That time Turcsányi entered the stage of Hungarian painting "fully armed" with developed clear expression, coherent pictorial view."

"In 2001 his exhibition at the Vigadó Gallery was an important phase in his carrier, exactly his monumental work called Underground which was painted for this event to this exhibition hall. The 18 meter high painting consists of nine parts. It changed the former expressive form accumulation, the crowded swarm of picture elements into a spacious calmness, sober, balanced composition. Among the natural and organic picture elements there are geometric forms as well to enrich the "descriptive" motifs in a special way. The way is special, because although he describes, but an abstract form, a geometrical body. Nothing else happened, just the former neutral surfaces shown here and there in the picture were clear only in a pictorial context, widened into concrete geometrical forms and bodies, sometimes architectural fragments. The variable surging formation of the two different fields of motifs united in a harmonic total in the composition. However, it shows an oppressed tension. The artwork reflected a more balanced picture of the restless and swarming unconsciousness of the previous years in the form of an "inner self-portrait".

"As if a new form-list was born, listing the new forms and solutions to prepare a different type of picture. As if we were fried from the well known strict composition, the crowded forms, and the forms would come to life, not the descriptive ones, throwing out the old ones which remind us of monsters, parts of the body and other recognizable elements. Other forms are to be born in front of us from the picturesque swirling and get a concrete non-figurative form. The palette is renewed: wider scale, lighter tone and colour than earlier."
