Gyula Balogh Born in Budapest in 1950, presenly lives at Monor. Student of the Hungarian Art School between 1971-75, where his tutor was Simon Sarkantyú. As a founder-nember of the newly organized Colony of painters at Gyula, he has initiated the sociographic realism in Hungary. The common aim of the colony is to give a true sociographic picture of this small town (Gyula), on the Hungarian Puszta. The large-sized aquarells of Gyula Balogh are also reflecting this "small town hyperrealism". He was showing at many exhibitions of the Gyula art colony. During his career the has been anarded many art prizes and diploms.
