The painter and graphic artist Sinkó Károly (Bp., 24 March 1910. - Bp., 2 April 1967.) studied at the Collage of Fine Arts in the class of Karlovszky Bertalan. From 1933 to 1935 he was the assistant lecturer of Lyka Károly. He first showed his works at a collective exhibition in 1936. He held a one man exhibition in Budapest in the Derkovits Ward in 1955 and in 1964. He was a Secondary School teacher, he taught at the Collage of Agriculture and the University of Arts. His works are held by private collectors and are held by the Hungarian National Gallery.

Sinkó Károly did landscapes, figural aquarelles and tempera in the first place. His favorite topic was the bend of the Danube. However, he did not record the land but the ever-lasting vitality of nature. He held on to the beauty of the bend of the Danube to the end. He painted the forests over the water, the houses in Nagymaros, the bridges, gardens, places in Visegrád and the castle of Zsennye.
The artworks of the painter who died forty years ago can be seen from 23 June to 30 July 2007 in Verőce in the Gorka House.
The exhibition is supported by the Ráday gallery of Budapest.
