Even though the collection is extremely varied there are artists whose works were left out of the collection. These are the works we will exhibit. We also plan to publish a catalogue including these works. Besides the artworks of naive artists the oeuvre of Tibor Hetényi will also be presented.


'Based on all this I believe that the collection of Dezső Saphier, partly conscious, partly instinctive, is based on the theories of aesthetics, artist sociology, and visual anthropology. Off course the outsider would describe the works with these words. It has many lessons in connection with Hungarian art which may result in our refreshing our knowledge and rethinking it is as an ideal aim.'

'It is undeniably true that it makes me more excited if I can explore and own a painting by an excellent painter instead of having a valuable but in reality a low quality work by a classic artist. I am not interested in the 123rd Ripple-Rónai portrait 'made as a crime to survive'. I am more interested in showing a new area full of surprises'.
