Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) was born in Switzerland and worked in Paris. The sculpture was a significant figure of the 20th century. He belonged to those, whose art greatly influenced the history of art as well as many Hungarian artists. His lean figure looks familiar even for those who do not remember his name. The Hungarians have only been able to see his statues and paintings in the form of reproductions up to now. This is why it is a pleasure to see his oeuvre displayed along the program of the Hungarian Museum of Fine Arts in 2004.
