Material in the exhibition - Jewish manuscripts, ceremonial objects - are linked to religious practices, or were used as ceremonial objects in Jewish homes or in synagogues. The documents in addition to having aesthetic and artistic values serve as historical documents. Many types of Hebrew writing are shown, all types are characteristic of Jewish people living in a particular part of the world.

The material is characteristic of countries and territories, regions where they were made. All photos and copies come from the collection of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

The exhibition is supported by the Israelite embassy in Budapest .
