18 paintings are included in the material on display, some of them has become emblematic works, such as László Patay's large composition entitled "Negotiations' or by Ferenc Szalay 'Those Fifties'. The first on the apropos the Reagan-Gorbachev meeting, he focused on world political events while the latter is a reference back to the cruel world of the Rákosi dictatorship.
The St. Stephen Museum inherited 130 paintings, photos, and a historical material of about thousands of pieces from John Smohay.
