The Museum of Applied Arts traditionally presents works of art by contemporary artists through the professional collage of NKA. The material on display consists of works of art that were realised through the financial support provided for the artist. The curator of the exhibition was designated by the Museum of Applied Arts. It has been a tradition now that we show a selection of excellent works by contemporary artist every year. The location is the Cupola Room of the Museum of Applied Arts, a 200 m2 space where mostly contemporary artists have shown in the past years.

This year, thirty artists show their art. The works of a great variety, there is no one theme or concept that would characterize them. Still, it is a selection that is influenced by Hungarian tradition. The variegation of the works is enhanced by the choice of raw material, and technique the artists applied, in addition to their spirit of experimenting and playfulness.

The artists did not stop at the triality of material- form-function. Instead, they applied tools of contemporary applied art to express their ideas, emotions and their approach to the world. This resulted some of the just moving on the boundary of other related arts such as photography, performance and musical instrument making.

The items on display vary greatly, consisting of statue-like works, everyday used objects, still shots etc. The works are made of textile, ceramics, paper, metal, plastic and natural material, meaning, things to be found in nature.

A catalogue in Hungarian was published to accompany the display.
