John Cage (1912-1992) was one of the most outstanding figures of avant-garde music, a versatile artist. His performances, shows, writings and visual works of art are all of significance. During his career, he played shows and performed all over the world. During his visits in countries behind the Iron Curtain, (e.g. in 1963 at the Zagreb Music Biennial< or the Warsaw Autumn Festival< in 1964) he influenced many young musicians in Eastern and Central Europe.
