Guido Vedovato who lives in the Italian Alps, did not go to art school. He began painting in the 1970's. Several of his works have been shown in various art galleries and museums in the world, including the USA, the Far East, and also Budapest.

Vedovat's characteristic works of individual style mesmerise the viewers right away. It is easy to grasp the colourful paintings, full of life. The paintings are always about little stories. Through them, we gain insight into the archaic life of locals in the Alps. However, when night comes, a magical world of fantasy enfolds, with mysterious animals coming out of their hiding places, pondering wisely, overseeing the world around them with silent dignity.
It is Vedovato's conscious intention to crate simple works, through ancient technology and approach to art. Events that are rendered by means similar to that of the Egyptians, change the world in which the proportions of creatures and objects also change. He shifts and shuffles the spatial scales, in order to dip the viewers into his magical world.
Though Vedovato uses his own experiences for his art, the pictures are not for their own sake. They carry universal messages: to take care of traditions and respect the past, and all this through the world of the Italian Alps.
