The noteworthy building of the city of Győr, the Hungarian Ispita gives home to the permanent exhibition arranged of the private collection of professor Péter Váczy. The building used to function as the home of aged and lonely citizens of the town. Its operation was supported by the foundation of bishop György Széchenyi (founded in 1666) until the first world war.

The originally two buildings were connected by an inner courtyard and a link corridor in the beginning of the 18th century, and a church was also attached to it.The former altar ornamentation is the work of local master István Schaller (done between 1740-1742).

On the outer facade, between the windows of the first floor, the statues of St.Flórián and St. Joseph are seen.

The building was reconstructed in the 1960'ies, and divided it into tiny divisions. In 1963 an well was erected in its courtyard, ornamented by the bird statue (Phönix) of Miklós Borsos Phönix. In 1994, on the initiative of town mayer Ernő Kolozsváry, the building was restored to its 18th century state and was turned into a museum building. Since 1995 the private collection of Péter Váczy and contemporary fine arts exhibitions have been held in its halls.
