The basic aim of the Bábolna National Stud Farm Ltd. is to preserve the castle, the stud, the livestock, the continuation of the ideal heritage, which are part of our national cultural heritage. The background of more than 200 years behind the Bábolna National Stud Farm obliges us to build a cultural and tourist center respecting and preserving, but at the same time developing our traditions.

The geographic situation and historic past of Bábolna makes the town apt for tourism. It is almost half way between Budapest and Wien, twenty minutes drive from Pannonhalma, a town part of the world heritage, and the fortress system of Komárom. The Mountain of Bakony, Herend, Zirc are only an hour drive from us. These locations could be excellent targets of excursions.

The land of the counts Szapáry was brought by the empire Joseph II to provide supply of horses for his army.

The famous Shagya stud arrived from 1836 from Syria. The World Association of Arabic Horse Breeders as individual race accepted its descendants in 1978. The profession lists it under the name Arabic from Bábolna. The basis of the 250 Arabic studs is made up of 53 mares and stallions. The pureblooded Arabic horses are of great value in breeding. In the stud of Dióspuszta of the Bábolna National Stud Farm Ltd. the English blood horses have been bred for four decades.
