The Nógrád Historic Museum of Salgótarján has periodically organized individual drawing exhibitions since 1982. The National Drawing Biennial was first held that year, ever since a quality graphic studio formed around the biennial.
The event turned into a Triennial in 2008. The objective of the organisers, however, did not change. Every work of art that is not reproduced was made of some kind of printable material and of which the main element is the line is considered a drawing.
200 works of art by almost 134 artists were shown, among them works by József Benes, Borgó, István Gellér B., Péter Kovács, Krisztina Kókay, Tamás Kótai, Gábor Nagy, Valéria Sóváradi, Péter Stefanovits, Gabriella Sulyok, József Szurcsik, Ildikó Várnagy and András Wahorn, Jaroslaw Grulkowski.
The grand prize awarded artist of the XIII. National Drawing Biennial of 2006, Gábor GyörgyNagy also presents a chamber exhibition, as well as the Csohány Prize awarded artist in 2006, Péter Balázs Kovács.
