The painter László Paizs was born in Szentpéterúr in 1935. He finished his studies at the Academy of Applied Art sin 1959. He began making large pictures using plexi, then later on polyster. In 1980 he was awarded with the Munkácsy Prize, in 1988 with the Merited Artist Medal. In 1981-82 he taught form studies at the Industrial Form Department for the Academy of Applied Arts.
