The exhibition located at the Park Exhibition Site of the József Koszta Museum presents over half thousand toys. The oldest of them is 8.000 years old but the younger Teddies are also 70 years old, too. The exhibition reviews toys from archaeological times to nowadays.
The showing also includes over one hundred dolls. We hope that the showing organized by the archaeologist Mária Béres and the collector Gyöngyi Remzső attracts a number of generations since all generations are interested in dolls, teddies and other toys of our past.
'A doll has one soul, but maybe three. One of the souls was inhaled by the maker, the other by the girl who played with it and the third by the collector who loves it' - say the organisers.
The toys, dolls, accessories shown were mainly borrowed from the Museum of Szentes and Szeged, as well as from private collections. However, several of the pieces are from families in Szentes who lent us the toys during the time of the showing.
The scale model of the railway station of Szeged at the turn of the century is a treat for boys. A working Merklin train is also include din the model. The oldest teddy bear of the thirty shown is 80 years old. It is a bear made of wood. We also show a 8000-year-old miniature dish with which kids played once. Some toys from the Bronze Age and the Árpád Age are also part of the showing.
We also set up an activity room for children where little boys and girls can play while the parents and grandparents amuse themselves at the showing.
