By order of the The Ministry of Religion- and Public Education (37.335/III.sz.,1924), projecting of films was made obligatory on schools. Once in a month the pupils aged 6-18 went to the movie to see educational films connecting to the curriculum.

The golden age of educational films started with the use of small projectors and non-explosive flammable films, when after 1934 under a state act instructional films were declared to school equipment.

In this exhibition the period after 1945 is worked out in detail, when saving its original functions the educational film had propaganda elements, also. In order to perform manufacturing processes, the filmtypes of "How to..." were special emphasized. Didactic explanation of keeping the forms of society became a returning topic.

By lots of contemporary and still working cinematographs, documents, roll films, educational film catalogues, reviews and teachers' methodological debates are the visitors shown over through the history of educational film to the seventies.

To exhibit films, (i.e. an information carrier) as a classical museum exhibition object seems to be an interesting task. Considering the topic and form of the educational film is an outstanding source for the educational museum. Our exhibition provides an opportunity to give the museum interpretation of films and to call their meaning and idealism with objects as a witness.
