The sunlight studio in which Kováts István Sr, later Jr, as well as Kováts Árpád and his wife photographed the visitors was built in Székelyudvarhely at 21 Kossuth Street.
Studio in Székelyudvarhely
The first section of the exhibition revives the milieu of the 'light scribe place' of the small town where the visitors can feel the unique atmosphere of the place. The viewers of the photos taken in the studio take part in a real time travel since not only the cloths changed with time but also the set and the people.

The local photographers were also local patriots and occasional photo reporters. On account of their personality, their love of profession or other reasons they photographed a lot outside of the studio.

Székelyudvarhely was a famous center of education, culture and craftsmanship. The pictures show varied characteristics of the villages in the region.

The studio in Székelyudvarhely still operates as it always used to and awaits those who want to record their presence here to the posterity. The photographers may take a Polaroid picture or a digital one, or even take a photo among a historic set with an old camera.

The exhibition is interesting for the visitors coming from far away places, but is also for the local Transylvanians who can see photos for the first time.
