Gorka Lívia (Nógrádverőce, 1925) is a Munkácsy Prize winner Merited Artist. One of the most significant collections of her life is shown in the Gorka Ceramics Museum of Verőce.
The works of Gorka Lívia full of symbols and signs mirrors the view of nature of a few thousand-year-old culture. It recalls the ancient methods naturally, she returns to the oldest forms of ceramics without being archaic.
Gorka Lívia's object suggest timelessness, presents slumbering energy that can break through any time. They open up cosmic distances but despite of their dramatic nature they can be characterized with a kind of stability. Besides the objects displayed at the permanent exhibition, we show the life of the artist with the help of photos and documents.
