In our exhibition we dispayed three hand-made homespun bread cloths from Tiszafüred and its surroundings. The basic material for traditional bread cloths was handwoven homespun or cotton and the motifs or patterns were red or blue. Each textile had monograms (with the letters NM, HM or CsM) refering to the former owner or maker. These letters were made by the technique of the so-callad cross stitch technique.

The bread cloths were made by young girls or young women as a household activity during the first decades of the 20th century.
