The exhibition "Nice present, beautiful star ... - Christmas festivities at Lake Balaton" reveals the outcome of more than 100 years of research and shows ethnographic treasures up to now hidden in the ethnography storage evoking the atmosphere of Christmas in the past.

Special, by now hardly known or completely forgotten traditions, folkways are revealed most of which are specific to the Lake Balaton region. The characteristics of the rich material material , such as the puppet moving nativity scenes, the three star king-and original pieces of used with flogging fine saints are to be presented - contributing to advent and the festive mood.

Curator: Szilvia Gyanó, the ethnographer for the Balaton Museum
