One of the most interesting documents of our collection is a booklet-like object with 100 pages. It is a printed, official booklet opened on the 30th of June, 1930 as it was issued with revenue stamps.

It was introduced and opened as a cash-book of the local museum society (which was a civil organisation), but later it was used as the Visitor’s book of the Tiszafüred Museum. Names and remarks of the visitors can be read from the 8th page. The first remark was put down on the 20th of August, in 1947 and the latest remark was dated on the 14th of May, 1967.

Following the names and remarks of visitors we can analyse the tendency of museum-visiting and one can see how museum-visiting became a kind of cultural phenomenon among the primary and secondary school pupils in Tiszafüred and the neighbouring villages, homestead-centres (Poroszló, Egyek, Tiszaörvény, Tiszaszőlős, Tiszaszentimre, Újszentgyörgy, Újlőrincfalva, Lekehalma) in the 1950’s and in the 1960’s. Therefore the museum-visiting was enforced by the authorities among pupils. We can also see that 18 temporary exhibitions were organised in the Kiss Pál Museum from 1954 till 1967.

This booklet is a very useul document and resource of our museum’s history as it is contains many information of those years.

Displaying this booklet we would like to remember the 60th anniversary of the 4th of May, 1954, when our museum was named after General Kiss Pál, who was a general of the Hungarian Army during the Revolution and War of Independence in 1848-1948.
