Ármin Vámbéry was one of the greatest discoverer and Orientalists in the 19th century, who between 1862-64 dressed up as a mendicant dervish, an got into closed khanates in Central Asia in a limping leg in search of the origins of the Hungarians. He gained reputation with his travels in Western Europe and for decades the leading daily newspapers asked him to expert on happenings in Central Asian political life.
