The oldest and biggest collection of the Transport Museum. The exhibition contains two parts: the first part displays the period up to 1945 the second part displays the period from 1945 until this time.
The main exhibits: A steam locomotive made in Austria in 1860, a narrow-gauged locomotive made in Germany in 1870. This one had been working in a cole mine in Salgotarján a long time. Important exhibit is a coach of the Royal train from 1884 and a beautiful coach of a privat railway-company from 1887.
The development of the Hungarian locomotives and coaches is displayed in a unique collection of models in scale 1:5. It has got more than 100 pieces models.
