István Nádler. The painter István Nádler was born on 29 November 1938 in Visegrád. He lives and works in Budapest and Feketebács (Káli Basin). His art is inspired by the Feketebács atmosphere, motifs of Hungarian folk art, European classical music. Debussy), and also traditional music from the Far East.

In 1986 he was awarded with the Munkácsy Prize, in 1997 he received the award Merited Artist of the Hungarian Republic, in 2001 he received the Kossuth Prize. In 1998 he won the flag contest announced by the Council of Europe with the 'Flag of Freedom'. His works can be found in several public collections, (MNG, Budapest Art Gallery, Ludwig Museum, Budapest; Albertina, MUMOK, Vienna; Guggenheim Museum, New York etc.) and the most important private collections (Vass László Collection, Spengler-Somlói Collection, Kolozsváry Collection etc.)
