The David Open Art School and the Art and Philosophy Open University of Klagenfurt signed a contract for a long range cooperation with the objective to discuss experiences, co-host exhibitions and establish an international artist colony. The David Open Art School is first to show 30 works of art at the Downtown Gallery in Klagenfurt. The school in Klagenfurt is member of the European open university net that is to fulfil an EU project also known and supported in the USA.

The most important thing for the people of the future is life quality, so the name of the project is Learning until the End of Life. This is the common point, and is also the credo of the David Open School. The high standard education is available for everybody, independent from age, sex and profession, who want to develop internally. This long-range cooperation will be constructive for all participants. It is exactly our times when people have learn to think, that re-places from material world, where things are evaluated on their own account. We should not forget about our grandfathers, theatre plays, buildings, statues, poems, music and everything that have been left for us by our ancestors.

Art is not only a vehicle of traditions but also researches and invents: teaches us to see the world differently. The ability of create has been there for people. It is a kind of possibility to find meaning in life; all we have to do is do something for it. The noblest task is to solve the problem of balance of spiritual existence and everyday life. The objective of both open schools is to provide opportunity to do this for everyone, even if you are 60. Learning opens up new perspectives, through which we learn to live in dignity and have sensible objectives. This is the common principal; the rest is only details, experience of methods and discussion of ideas.

The exhibition presenting works of arts by artists from aged 12-70, both artists to be and amateurs, was constructed based on these principles. There is one common thing: the intention to create quality. We hope the visitors will find new perspectives in our exhibition, over the aesthetic experience. It might even surprise you.
