The large exhibition selected from the museum collection (in the gallery on the first floor) represents the symbolic meaning of glass in the various ages, such as in the classicist, empire, biedemeier, historian, secession, art deco and avan-garte styles. The various styles are represented by separate enteriours, in which emphasis is placed on the functional role of the glass items.
A taste of the exhibition
In the international material especially outstanding are the glass cups of Anton Kothgasser and those of J. & L. Lomeyr, Salviati & Co., Émile Gallé, the cameo glasses of Thomas Webb & Sons and a unique piece of Christopher Dresser Clutha. Visitors can again see the special Tiffany collection of the museum.

In the Hungarian material we can see the works of Laó Pantocsek Valentin - inventor of the "iris" glass - Henrik Giergl, István Sovánka and the Schreiber-factory.
