There are approximately 200 pieces of selected wall
covers at the exhibition, collected and well preserved. They were obtained from donations and purchases.

The owner of this collection is Éva Boda of 77 years of age, who has wide interest in several kinds of artifacts besides the wallcovers.
The wallcovers are either painted red or blue on white linen, occasionally broided with a script, romantical, idillical live scenes, still life or religious illustrations using coloured yarns. Their function is - as suggested by their name - to protect the whitewash wall from the impurities of the kitchen.
The motives are predrawn, and later duplicated to be pressed onto the linen. The houswife broided out the prints very carefully at home. Depending on her skill the wallcovers would have become an artistic piece or ornated with lovely, grotesc figures.
At the exhibition one can see several variation of the Wall covers.
