The creator of the collection, Kiss Péter, was born in Ipolytarnóc. He moved to the neighbouring village to work as a doctor, in 1973. Kiss Péter was keen on rescuing of the local peasant culture.
A taste of the exhibition
There were lots of old belongings in his family house in Ipolytarnóc. This served for the starting point of the collection. Later the substance from here and from the neighbourhood (Egyházasgerge, Mihálygerge, Litke) increased.

The collector collected different types of objects. The furniture deserves attention (chests, carved benches, carved chairs, epigraphical painted bed).

The homespuns and embroideries exemplify the change of style of the folk art in the 20th century.

The special bonnet was made around the 1920’s. There are lots of ceramics in the collection.

The collection after dr. Kiss deceased, was purchased by Palóc Múzeum.

The fair and the exhibition came true with the support of NKA - National Cultural Foundation.
