Paintings of Munkácsy are parading through the country 100 years after the death of the artist. Pákh Imre, the private collector living in America, put his treasures at the disposal of the visitors. After 27 paintings by Munkácsy and portraits of him were shown in Budapest, the artworks are displayed in Debrecen, Pécs, Kaposvár, Szeged, Békéscsaba and Miskolc.
Walk in the Park Monceau, 1882, oil, wood, 98x76 cm
The collection accompanied with Munkácsy paintings and documents from the Hungarian National Gallery is shown in the Gallery of Szombathely from 12 until 25 February. We borrowed Munkácsy relics from the Munkácsy Museum of Békéscsaba.

Famous paintings such as the 'Yawning Apprentice' found lately, the 'Birthday of Father' and the 'Two Families in the Salon' are among the pictures shown. Reductions of two paintings from the world-famous Christ trilogy, the 'Christ in front of Pilate' and the 'Golgotha' are also shown along with studies.

Several cultural programs accompany the exhibition: quiz show for school groups titled 'Munkácsy and his Era', dance house, music evening and lectures.
