The Association of Hungarian Photographers celebrates its 50th birthday this year. On this occasion, the Association set up a grand scale exhibition series from middle of October across Hungary. The most spectacular event of the Photo Month 2006 is one of the most significant exhibitions of all times in Hungary. The showing is entitled "(M)Easure - World Famous Hungarian Photographers" open from the middle of November at the Ernst Museum.
Brassai: A Parisian Couple in the Dance Hall of the "Quatre-Saisons"
A selection of photos by five stars of photography born in Hungary, Brassai, Robert Capa, André Kertész, László Moholy Nagy and Martin Munkácsi are included in the showing. Some of the 250 photos have already been shown but some of them are brand new.

The grand past of Hungarian photography is well known. In the framework of the Photo Month 2006, we wish to remind the visitors that there are things the Hungarians can be proud of. Another important message of the program is that Hungarian photography can have a glorious future if we consider the new generation. Photography is highly ranked among art genders. So, it is worth paying attention to the new unfolding Hungarian photography. - said Zsolt Szamódy, the President of the Association of Hungarian Photographers.
