The Self-government of the Town of Mohács organizes the Fine- and Applied Arts Salon for the 7th time. The Salon organized biyearly ever since 1994 holds works of artists of the town and region.

32 applicants sent in 122 paintings, graphics, statues, ceramics and other fine- and applied artworks. The jury made up of artists and art historians selected 71 works of 28 artists. The committee including the fine artist Erdős János, the ceramic artist Keményffy Gábor, the arts historian Kovács Orsolya and the sculptor Nyári Zsolt believe that the works represent high value.
As before at the Salons, this year we host newcomers again. Many of the artists awarded are young artists or not recognized before. Of course, most of the well-known artists from Mohács also sent in their works to prove that they still belong among the best artists of the town.
10 first-rate artists receive prizes. The artist whose works show greatest unity receives the Main Prize and the right to organize a one-man exhibition. The artists awarded this year are the graphic artists Balázs Balázs, Csanda József, Kedves János, Oláh János, Pecsuvácz Antalné, Szigeti Szabó János, Böhm Gergely, Szabó László István, Szőke Péter, Tatai Tibor. The Main Prize was given to Böhm Gergely.
The jury at the Salon of Mohács inquired about the opinion of the visitors too. At the end of the exhibition a Visitors' Prize is handed over to the artist the visitors chose. The prize also involves the right to hold a one-man exhibition.
