The exhibition organized on the hallway on the first floor of the Damjanich János Museum from 21, June 2005 is of an almost unknown folk art, the sawn lace of Szolnok.
The lace of Szolnok was first made by Hagyák Stefánia. Mrs. Jakab Mészáros Gizella continued the work in the 20th century which period is called the renaissance of lace making.
Hagyák Stefánia's wholly unique sense of line and designs has a trademark: the heart. The laces the family made and designed at the time of the war were extremely sought after. The exhibition organized by the ethnographer Gecse Annabella is to preserve this nice tradition.
