The head keeper of records László Toldy donated a silver sugar-bowl made by an unknown artist of Wien in 1896. This donation was the base of the goldsmith collection of the museum. Today the number of the collection is over 500.

The visitors may see the works of artists from the 18-19th century of Pest, Buda and Óbuda. Wonderful silverware and jewelry made by József Szentpéteri, József Müller, Lipót Fischer, Antal Starzer and József Nickl are displayed.
In the spring of 2004 Emma Deér donated her collection in connection with Hungary made by artists of the 19th century to the Budapest Museum of History. The compilation is made up of more than 37 pieces. The fine silverware assortment perfectly fits in the goldsmith collection of the museum that had not obtained works by Ferenc Günther, Lajos Toperczer, György Szathmári, Ádám Renner, Blaska Casparus, and Kasten Thomas before the donation was received.
The exhibitors wish to present this new compilation to the audience complemented with the wonderful pieces never before displayed.
