György Sinóros-Szabó was born in Szentes on 27, March 1936. He first attended the Elementary School of the Reformed Church in Szentes, later he studied at the Grammar School of Applied and Fine Arts of Budapest from where he graduated as a painter in 1954. At the faculty of ornamenting painting at the Collage of Applied Art his tutors were György Z. Gács, Zoltán Rákossy, Gyula Hincz, and Gyula Kaesz. He specialized in mural plaque painting, genders of graphics, letter drawing, folk art, scenery- and masque design, and furnishing design. He did his state exam of history of art. His thesis was written about the 30 square meter sgrafitto wall picture on the wall of the Secondary School of Music in Budapest.

He was the puppet and stage-designer and the scene manager of the National Puppet Theatre from 1959. Later he was the interior designer and the expert of fine and applied art of the Ministry of International Affairs. Later he became the chief counselor and head of the department until 1991. In the meantime, he was the manager of the office of the Ambassador in Washington. He was the expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his retirement in 1996-2002.
He did many of his designs for the puppet theatre (Rome, Prague). At that time, he was also a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, poster and advertisement maker. His exhibitions: in Szentes from 1974, in 1986-2001 in Budapest. As a pensioner, he was a freelancer, an art expert, and later a so-called Sunday painter.
He brought along 34 of his works for his cellar exhibition in Szentes. We can find pictures made with aquarelles, gouache, ink or mixed techniques. We also present a few of his ripe oil compositions. His selection is salutation his town of birth.
